Cookie Policy
There are no cookies on this site — none of ours and none from anyone else. This page explains what that means and what the single exception, which is not a cookie, actually is.
1. The short answer
metaload.org sets no cookies. Not strictly necessary ones, not functional ones, not analytics or advertising ones. This is why you have not been shown a consent banner: there is nothing to consent to, and a banner asking you to agree to nothing would be theatre.
This holds whether or not a sponsorship slot is being shown. Any advertising here is plain text served from this domain rather than an advertising network, so it sets nothing, requests nothing and measures nothing. Advertising is the usual reason a site needs a cookie banner; serving it this way is the reason this one does not.
You can verify this yourself
Open your browser's developer tools, choose the storage or application panel, and look at the cookie list for this domain. It should be empty. This is a claim you do not have to take our word for, which is the kind of claim we prefer to make.
2. Why there are no third-party cookies either
Third-party cookies arrive with third-party content: an embedded video, a hosted font, a content-delivery network, a social button, an analytics tag, a comment widget, an anti-spam service. This site loads none of those. Every file a page needs — stylesheet, script, icon, image — is served from metaload.org itself.
The practical consequence is that no other company is told you visited this site, because no other company is involved in showing it to you.
3. The one thing stored on your device
If you use the light/dark theme switch in the site header, your choice is saved using your browser's local storage, which is a different mechanism from a cookie in the one way that matters most: it is never attached to a request and never sent to a server.

Because this stores nothing about you, identifies nothing, and never leaves your device, it is not the kind of storage that requires consent under the applicable rules. It is a setting, in the same sense that your browser's zoom level is a setting.
4. If you would rather it were not stored
Two options, both entirely in your control:
- Do not use the switch. The site will simply follow whatever light or dark preference your operating system already reports, and store nothing.
- Clear it. Clearing site data for metaload.org in your browser's settings removes it. The site continues to work exactly as before.
Blocking local storage for this site through your browser settings is also fine. The theme switch will stop remembering your choice between visits; nothing else changes.
5. Server logs are a separate matter
Cookies and local storage are things stored on your device. Server access logs are a different thing entirely: records the hosting infrastructure writes when it serves a page. They are described in section 3.2 of the privacy policy, along with what is in them and how long they are kept.
6. If this ever changes
Should we ever have a genuine reason to introduce a cookie or a third-party component, this page and the privacy policy will be updated in the same release that introduces it, and any consent required by law will be requested before the component loads — not after.
We would rather solve a problem without a cookie than solve it with one and ask you to accept it.
